Shower & Drying Room

All dogs are showered prior to entering the pool. This ensures that the quality of our water remains high as well as warming your dog up before any exercise or treatment. Our shower facilities are floor level allowing easy access for all dogs regardless of mobility.

The pool water contains low levels of chlorine in it as antibacterial protection, despite these low levels we also shower the dogs after each session to remove the pool water. All sessions include a shampoo and fragrance spray following their session to leave them smelling fresh. If your dog has medicated shampoo you are more than welcome to bring it along to their session.

Dogs are dried with "Aquamats" which absorb water from their coats and towel dry. We then use a blaster dryer, this has variable speeds to suit all dogs. It is important that the dog is not left wet as the cold and damp can cause further stiffness, especially during the colder months. During the colder months is is a good idea to bring a towelling coat to prevent them from getting cold.

  • We brought Buster our 8 yr old Shih Tsu to Aquavets due to his bad arthritis he had become very quiet, overweight and was only walking a few yards each walk. Following ten swimming and three physio sessions, we have a happy, slim and energetic dog again. Instead of thinking we were losing him shortly we are now looking forward to a long future with our very loved family member. Thank you to Abbey Vets for referring us. Marion Davis –Marion Davis
